Welcome to the Contracting, Worker Rights & Practical Compliance module
This module focuses on the “how” of implementation—how contract and staffing arrangements should work under the new Codes, what rights workers actually have, and how employers, HR and supervisors can stay inspection-ready in daily operations.
It is a learning-and-practicing module—work through the caselets, use the checklists, and revisit them whenever you face a real-life situation.
In This module, You Will Learn
1. Contract Labour and Staffing Under the New Rules
Understand the tripartite relationship between principal employer, contractor/staffing company and worker. Explore ideas like multi-state contractor licences, correct classification, and the risks of “fake consultants” or informal contractors.
2. Everyday Rights for Workers & Responsibilities for Supervisors
See what every worker should know—appointment letters, minimum wages, overtime, leave, social security and safety—and what every supervisor must do (and avoid) in attendance, OT, behaviour, safety and grievance handling.
3. Checklists, Inspections and Being “Compliance-Ready”
Learn how to use simple checklists, HR systems and site records to stay compliant. Understand the role of Inspector-cum-Facilitator, safety committees, industrial tribunals and OSH governance so you can respond calmly and confidently during audits and inspections.
Objective of This Module
By the end of this module, you will:
- Describe how contract labour and staffing models should be structured to remain compliant under the new Codes.
- Identify worker rights and supervisor responsibilities in typical day-to-day situations (extra hours, safety gear, behaviour, documentation).
- Use basic compliance and inspection-readiness checklists to spot gaps and start corrective action in your own workplace or client site.
This learning-and-practicing module is your toolkit for doing the right thing, every day—whether you are an employer, HR professional, supervisor or worker representative. Revisit the examples and checklists whenever you need a quick confidence boost before a decision, an audit or a conversation on compliance.
